I have not been able to understand what it means exactly. Does barre de terre mean earthing bar, which sounds stupid. Thanks for your help.

I wouldn't say Earth bar sounds stupid (though Mars bar might raise a few eyebrows), but the usual expression is "rod". Earth in GBEN, Ground in USEN.

agree  rkillings: If it's a grounding rod driven into the soil, in USEN we'd even call it an "earth ground" :-) But Terry may be right too.

Explanation:
It depends on the context. If it's a metal rod that is driven into trhe ground, Chris is right. If it's a strip of connectors inside an electrical panel, I am :)
