French to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Electronics / Elect Eng / cabling | | French term or phrase: trajet (d'une conduite) | I know basically what this means, but I don't know the appropriate term in American English. Help?

| | run | Explanation: This is certainly the term we would use in GB in these sort of instances, and I think it's very likely suitable for the US too; you should be able to check fairly easily by searching on a suitable collocation + some US-only terms.
We certainly talk about 'horizontal / vertical cable runs', etc. etc.

No need to add 'cable' unless it is there in the original, especially as in some places they are talking about 'conduit runs'.

(I only added 'cable' for my Google search, in order to eliminate many possible red herrings; of course, one might equally well have a 'run' of gas/water pipe!) |

Asker: Wonderful, thank you! From your experience having used this term, would you recommend "horizontal cable run" or simply "horizontal run"? I mean, I think it's pretty clear we are talking about cables here but I am curious as to your opinion.
