French to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Electronics / Elect Eng / cabling | | French term or phrase: jonction réalisée par fusion | Hi all,
I have come up with various options for translating this term, but none of them seem to be the right one. I am hoping someone knows the corresponding term in US English. This is part of tender specifications for a phone and data cabling contract.
18.4.3 Tiroir fibre optique universelle
My ideas: fused junction, fused connection, fusion junction, fused joining... the list goes on. I don't necessarily need a noun, I just phrased it that way to comply with KudoZ rules. It could be "The ____ are ____ blank," or really any formulation as long as it is the correct and recognized term in US English.
Thanks! |

| | Fusion splicing used | Explanation: The web ref. explains the two types of splicing and, a couple of lines down, mentions that fusion splicing is commonly used for pigtails. |
