French term or phrase: Appareil de détection pour raccordement “1/4 de tour ” du détecteur au réseau.
Any electronics experts out there? This sentence is too technical for me (appears in an otherwise marketing-orentiated text as an example of a product the company has designed to order... It's obviously to do with a (computer) network... but I can't figure out exactly what it is. The context that follows is:

Blocs de jonction
connecteurs montés sur circuits
capteurs/actionneurs
organes de traitement des machines
raccordement sur carte
raccordement sur circuit imprimé
connecteur débrochable
réglettes à languette pour clips
vis à étrier

Explanation:
Well, it's pretty meaningless to me, but technical logic makes me think that what they really MEANT to say was:

"detection device for 1/4-turn connection to network"

Because it's FR, they feel the need to specify that it is this very same device that is being '1/4-turn' connected, since otherwise (if one were very stupid!) one might imagine it meant that this device was detecting the 1/4-turn connection --- silly idea!

You might well get away in this marketing text with simplifying it to:

"detection device with 1/4-turn network connection"

I think it just means it sort of slots in and turns, and hey presto! you're connected -- as distinct from lots of fiddly plugs, sockets, clips, screws etc. --- and in particular, perhaps without interrupting the network operation...

Dusty - even though the other answer really made me laugh, and said pretty much the same as what you expanded upon, I had to choose your answer because it really made me understand better. Thanks again!

Appareil de détection pour raccordement “1/4 de tour ” du détecteur au réseau.
A literal translation

Explanation:
is the best I can do. Having a "detection device" for connecting a "detector" to the system connecting to the system with a detection device connected to a detector seems to be going round in circles somewhat, in circles, spiralling inwards to inevitable self destruction, annihilation.

That said, it appears to say "detection device/system for 'quarter-turn' connection of the detector to the network".

Cf.
Engineered to work exclusively with the MARLIN Condition Detector (MCD), the MARLIN QuickConnect (MQC) mechanical/computerized studs provides for a fast, quarter turn connection which temporarily fastens the probe to a measurement point. This reduces the possibility of errors and inconsistencies often resulting from data collected by a variety of individuals using varying methodologies

Maybe the detector on the quarter-turn connector detects the presence of a detector for detecting something else ....
