Tech/Engineering - Energy / Power Generation / nuclear (EPR)
French term or phrase: crosse d'aspiration
Deux aspects doivent être pris en compte :
• La capacité de redémarrer le refroidissement sans créer de bulles de vapeur au point haut des crosses d’aspiration, qui risqueraient ensuite d’entraîner de la cavitation dans les pompes de refroidissement.
I see the answer to a similar question was given as 'gooseneck' and I wanted to know if the same would apply here, as 'suction gooseneck', which sounds a bit bizarre.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Yes, I mentioned in my question that I had come accross 'gooseneck' in previous answers. I just wanted to know whether it applied in this case. It seems that it does

Asker: Chris Collister's suggestion of suction-side gooseneck is appealing, so I'm torn between his offering and yours....My Areva glossary has crosse as J-tube.
