Why is MWc used and what does it stand for? Why does it seem to be used more in French than in English on the web? Is it a specific unit for measuring solar energy?

I'm not a solar expert nor an electrician, but the first thing that comes to mind with MW and power is megawatt. //Cath - I have found something that specifies "MW Crête" with reference to solar: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centrale_solaire_photovoltaïque

Explanation: what else, its to measure solar energy, I see in this link the only energy with MWc is the solar one, maybe the c is for cellular or also it can be c for consuption...

Asker: Doh. There I was searching everything for a translation of MWc and the answer was staring me in the face: I've been translating wc as Wp throughout. Thanks for pointing it out :)
