French to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Energy / Power Generation / Hydroelectric power plant
French term or phrase: sur pointes
This paragraph relates to the water supply tunnel of the dam.

"Le circuit d'adduction comporte un court canal permettant l'entonnement correct des débits quelle que soit la cote de la retenue et se poursuit par une galerie bétonnée de 5,30 m de diamètre sur pointes et de 2500 m de longueur".

I'm not sure how this should be parsed "galérie... sur pointes" or "diamètre sur pointes" and even less sure what it means!

Asker: Thanks for answering. I see you have a confidence level of 3, but have never head of "sur pointes" meaning "in places". Do you have any examples or is this a complete guess? Thank you.
