French to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Engineering: Industrial | | French term or phrase: Signaler TOUT choc au service qualité. | Contexte: pièces réalisées en fibres de carbone
Je ne peux pas employer le terme "impact" car un choc n'est pas forcément suivi d'un impact visible.
Ce serait plus au sens de coup donné par exemple en heurtant la pièce.
Merci pour vos suggestions. |
| | | ALL/ANY impacts must be notified to the Quality Department | Explanation: Yes, you CAN use 'impact', because it doesn't necessarily have to mean 'the VISIBLE TRACE OF an impact'
In EN, we would use the word 'impact' to imply any kind of shock stress in just the way you describe

Here are a couple of examples from the OED of the use of 'notify' without the use of the preposition 'of':
LD MACAULAY
The king..notified to the country his intention of holding a parliament.
Independent
More than half of all workplaces are not notified to the authorities.
W. S. CHURCHILL
She notified Oxford by gesture and utterance that he must surrender the Lord Treasurer’s white staff.
A. TOFFLER
The worker nearest the breakdown would notify his foreman. |
