Since they are talking about "pompage", then surely they are talking about pumping. If the context gives you any reason to believe otherwise, then please share it (hence less than 100% sure confidence level).
Downhole pumping systems are commonplace. As are downhole drilling systems, of course, but pumping is pompage and drilling is forage.
