Tech/Engineering - Engineering (general) / specification manual
French term or phrase: électrovanne. . . . . .montée en mélange
From an air-conditioning specification manual:
"Régulation du débit d’eau chaude par une électrovanne 4 voies modulante montée en mélange sur la sortie de l’eau chaude"

Unclear on the best phrasing for "en mélange". Would appreciate suggestions. Thanks.

motorized 4-way valve fitted as a mixer on the H/W output
Explanation:
Although 'electrovanne' is often translated as 'solenoid valve', in the special case of a 4-way valve, this construction is not usual --- a solenoid valve is most often a binary device: either fiull on or full off, whereas a 4-way valve is usually a proportional device, feeding a continuously-variabale proportion of the flows between the various ports. For this reason, it is more common to make them motor-driven, and hence, motorized.

'montée en mélange', I feel sure simply means that it is fitted in such a configuration that it can be sued to mix a (probably thermostatically-controlled) proportion of hot and cold water to achieve the desired output temperature.
