French to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Engineering (general) / Obstacle escamotable (road block) | | French term or phrase: accouplement de réduction avec vis sans fin | It belongs to electromechanical part of a road block. I have a guess that it might be a "worm reduction unit/worm reductor" (réducteur à vis sans fin/couple à vis sans fin), but for some reason they have written in an "accouplement". (It is a text where I already found several typing and wording errors.)
Or can they really mean "reducer coupling with worm" :P ?

Schneckengetriebe sind eine Kategorie der Schraubwälzgetriebe, bei denen im Gegensatz zu den Wälzgetrieben auch ein Gleitanteil in der Bewegung vorhanden ist. Dies ist der Hauptgrund für den niedrigen Wirkungsgrad (~0,45) und die meist notwendige Kühlung dieser Getriebe. Asker: Danke! Ich glaube auch, dass "accouplement de réduction" in diesem Kontext nicht "Reduziermuffe", aber "Reduziergetriebe" ist (= "réducteur/reduction unit" au lieu de "reducer coupling").
