French to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Engineering (general) / pump drive system
French term or phrase: chariot de translation
I had translated this as 'translation carriage' which got one or two googles, but wondered if it is more usually called a 'guide carriage' in this type of system? The system in question is a drive system for precision dosing pumps used in the food/pharmaceutical industries. Here are some of the occurrences of this expression in my text:

Amener l’équerre de liaison vis à billes / chariot de translation en face de l’ouverture pratiquée dans le rack.

Positionner le chariot avec l’outil de positionnement de chariot de translation (position basse).

Oter les 8 vis de fixation du chariot de translation sur les patins de guidage.

I suppose, if one viewed the term as pure 'franglais', one might imagine it to be a supermarket trolley full of translation work to do - but thankfully I personally haven't got that much pending! :)

I think this is what I used in the end...although I think Tony's 'car' might also have worked. Sorry for delay in grading...couldn't decide for ages....then forgot!

car...

Explanation:
I don't have specialist knowledge in your particular field, but just wanted to add that in certain contexts, 'car' is an alterantive translation for such a 'traveller' (also possible!)
