A test report on electrical tests on a transformer. But this is from a general disclaimer that appears in small print at the bottom of the first page.

Not sure if there is a significant distinction being made here.

Explanation:
I suspect it's just that the writer knows three words for the same thing and was determined to show that.

However, if three terms are needed, I can see three equivalents, though I'm not sure which would be which.

1) A sample taken from a production run.
2) A specimen built specifically for testing.
3) A sample taken from a "reserve supply" - I hardly think stocks of transformers would be kept so that in the event of problems the manufacturer can pull one out to "prove" that at the time of manufacture said components were used, etc. I think this practice is reserved to the agriphoods and farmaceutical phields.
