Par exemple, les doses absorbées par les populations sont calculées à partir de régimes alimentaires types qui sont différents selon les tranches d’âge. Ainsi, l’eau des puits consommée, l’eau d’arrosage, les transferts racinaires et foliaires pour les légumes et les fruits, les poissons, les œufs,… sont pris en compte. Les doses inhalées et ingérées ainsi reconstituées de manière enveloppe, sont comparées à des références toxicologiques et le risque est exprimé par rapport à des valeurs repères.
