French to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Finance (general) / business combinations | | French term or phrase: Eléments d'analyse par rapport à l'opération | | This sounds easy but it is the title of a major acquisition proposal. "Analysis factors relevant to the transaction" does not cut the muster. Anyone have any better ideas? |

Explanation: If you want to be strictly accurate, your original suggestion is good, but I would change the word order to a more natural "Analysis of factors (items) relevant to the acquisition/transaction".
For style purposes I would give serious consideration to not doing a word-for-word translation. It seems like it would end up too wordy and unnatural in English.
-French style often prefers noun substitutes where English prefers the original noun: things like "the former/the latter", 'this' instead of the noun, the 'transaction' rather than the 'acquisition'. The acquisition is what you are talking about.
-If you just put 'analysis' people will understand "factors of the analysis": less wordy, same thing. An analysis is a collection of factors.
Since this is a title, 'acquisition analysis' describes what is going on and is short and sweet, or, 'acquisition analysis factors'. The term 'items' is also often used for 'éléments' in accounting and financial analysis.
