French to English translations [PRO]
Food & Dairy / tableware
French term or phrase: palette
S’y ajoute de plus en plus une grande diversité d’accessoires qui vont personnaliser davantage les tables. La société Apilco-Yves Deshoulières étoffe notamment ses gammes en proposant dans sa nouvelle collection Vatel, une assiette à mise en bouche et dans sa nouvelle collection Melody, un coffret composé d’une palette et de cinq coupelles à sauce de couleurs différentes (www.deshoulieres.com).

Is the palette something for tasting the sauces (in which case shouldn't there be five?) or perhaps a dish like an artist's palette on which the five little dishes are presented?

English translation:Palette
Explanation:
I think 'palette', even if it just means 'artist's palette', would be good here as it would give the idea of the different-coloured sauces arranged on a flat surface and sounds attractive. (If there's going to be a picture alongside the translation then explaining exactly what it is is less crucial).

agree  Elizabeth Lyons: Dasher must be British; I would use palette or plate which is close to what you originally suggested.
33 mins

neutral  Rachel Fell: dasher isn't British, as far as I know - a palette , perhaps, but a palette is very different from a pallet (a wooden packing thing)

platter

Explanation:
a suggestion, as I can't see what it looks like - might do better if I could! I'm imagining it's a bit like the sort of thing you might get in an Indian restaurant with little pots with various chutneys and things in
