Hello everyone!
I think I will go for Catharine's suggestion as in one of her links it actually said 'le cambava'.
After reading all your answers I remembered that a few months ago I was translating some menus and the word 'combava' came up. I can't use my translation software for this particular project so I didnt have any memories setup. However, when I investigated further- there it was 'combava/kaffir lime.
Since it is a 'confit' I'm going to go for 'combava'.
