I think this is talking about soft close hinges but I just wanted to check it has hinges with silicone cartridges??

Ithink it's better not to focus on the damp end hinge as it's a bit surreal in this context but more on what the hinge does i.e closes the seat quietly rather than with a bang

neutral  Tony M: I'm not convinced by the literal translation of 'cartridge' here, in the context of such hinges. I think your last ref. is misleading, since it seems to be talking in fact about tap cartridges. / 'gel-filled' is the right idea, I think

I finally ended up with the type of seat with a dampened hinge (maybe not the right description) that causes the seat to lower slowly and gently. Way cool, until you visit someone else's home and drop their seat with a bang. :)
