even programmable weekly timers are distributed in different executions. Some have a plug-socket configuration, others are equipped with terminals, soldering lugs or only with displays or other means. Therefore I suggest to include the socket feature into the designation, especially as "prise" is also mentioned in the source term.
As this is obviously from a document where the finer electrical details ARE important, I would suggest using one of the extra notes in my answer. In these extra options, as I've explained below, I have specified the use of "mains" or "socket", as appropriate to your translation.
"Caractéristiques produits :
- Mise en route et arrêt automatiques des appareils électroniques, notamment pendant les heures creuses.
- Jusqu'à 98 programmes par semaine
- Fonction minuterie
- Fonction simulation de présence : mise en marche aléatoire
- Passage automatique de l'heure d'hiver à l'heure d'été
- Sauvegarde des programmes en cas de coupure de courant
- Equipé d'un interrupteur et de protections enfants
- Puissance : 3680W sous 230V~50Hz"
Is there any more context on this? I have given a couple of extra options in addition to my original target term, such as "weekly timer socket" and "MAINS ADAPTER 7 DAY TIMER SWITCH". I gave the whole range because it's not clear what the target is for. As this is entered under furniture and household rather than anything relating to technical and electrics, I didn't go too far into detail. Really need more context for a better idea.
How much detail you need to give is also going to depend on the context; is this describing the actual product shown in your link, or just one similar? Is it indeed intended as a legend to go with a photograph, or does the text stand entirely alone?
In the UK at least, the presence of a socket would pretty much be taken for granted on this type of device, as long as the overall context of the general type of device is obvious; however, if it isn't, then as Johannes says, it's quite important to specify it as precisely as possible.
