French to English translations [Non-PRO]
Furniture / Household Appliances / Bathroom taps
French term or phrase: cartouche a 2 niveaux
Economie d'eau : Ce mitigeur est équipé d'une cartouche à deux niveaux qui limite le débit du mitigeur.

Pretty simple one but just wanted to check.

Whole translation is about bathroom taps.
So this is a mixer tap with a double handle? or double cartridge?

thanks

English translation:2-level cartridge
Explanation:
Well, it's certainly nothing to do with the handle; in this kind of single-lever mixer tap, we do indeed talk about a 'cartridge' — it's the clever little gizmo that does all the clever stuff!

However, I'm not specifically familiar with this idea of a 2 niveaux one; physically, it could well be on 2 levels, though I can't quite work out how that would work; it could, of course, also be referring to 2 different 'flow levels'. I did wonder if it mightn't in fact be '2-stage', but that's going a bit further away, so it would be best to check.
You ought to be able to research this, ifeel sure there must be a technical description out there somewhere (or phone the manufacturer for explanation!), and I'd be surprised if these aren't also available by now in the UK.

Good luck, happy researching!

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks. Perhaps 2-level is safest without more context then. thank you

agree  Sheila Wilson: Could it be one where the water comes out low for the bath or high for the shower?

-> Thanks, Sheila! I somehow doubt it, since I shouldn't have thought that would be achieved at mixing-cartridge level???
