French term or phrase: jeu de 7 familles/ mistigri
Pour s'amuser entre copains:
- Jeu de 7 familles/Mistigri
- Jeu de cartes classique

This is from a marketing text advertising different games for children. In this case, I am not sure if these are 2 different games or one. I see that 'mistigris' or 'mistigri' can be translated as:

mistigris (miss'-tigg-riss, miss'-tigg-ree) n. 1: in the game of poker, the extra card, or joker.

However, we are talking about a children's card game here, so maybe it's something else! As for the 'jeu de 7 familles' - is this part of the same thing - or is it like 'Happy Families' perhaps?

I am no expert at card games, as you can see!

Many thanks in advance for any ideas!

Clarification request(s) and response
Philippe Boucry: 6:57pm Nov 30, 2005: "Jeu des 7 familles" is "Happy Families". "Mistigri" is a card and a word describing cats in general. I'm not entering this as an answer as I'll leave it to native speakers to find an equivalent for "mistigri". -
xxxsarahl: 7:24pm Nov 30, 2005: Both are card games. I think Mistigri exists in the US but I can't remember what it's called. It's definitely for kids, it's about an extra card you have to get rid of, not poker though. -
Philippe Boucry: 9:22pm Nov 30, 2005: Oh well, it's goodbye to the moggie, then! ;-)) -
