French to English translations [PRO]
Genealogy
French term or phrase: à vve
In a list of births, deaths, marriages in a French Canadian genealogy (the document is a series of excerpts from a larger compilation), some women are identified as "à vve" of X. "Widow", obviously, but does the "à" require any English equivalent? The phrasing is always "Married on such and such a date, XX, "à vve of XY."
