Aisha Maniar: 9:55am Apr 15, 2005: this question has already been asked and a more popular translation has already been offered: http://www.proz.com/?sp=h&id=620125 -
writeaway: 10:00am Apr 15, 2005: you consider Corneille to be general/conversation? :-) -
Sabrina Dridi (asker): 10:21am Apr 15, 2005: non je ne considère pas Corneille comme general/conversation mais je n'avais pas le temps de chercher une catégorie. Désolée...
Charlie Bavington: 11:17am Apr 15, 2005: Neither, it would appear, did you have time to wait for a translation into English. Ah well, your loss. I only hope your client manages to make some sense out of it. -

For those valuable, worthiness doesn't wait the number of years
Explanation:
Vers célèbres de Corneille (le Cid)

My opinion on this matter relies in one sentence that a french poet once said
"Aux âmes bien nées, la valeur n'attend pas le nombre des années"
which could be translated (without the poetical souding, sorry) into
"For those valuable, worthiness doesn't wait the number of years"
