your observation about multiple terms in your related question (l'au-delà) chimes with my initial reaction that these two terms would be enough in English, unless you feel compelled to echo fully the rhythm of the FR sentence; "the elsewhere" would spring rather less naturally to an English pen if not prompted by a text such as this.
