"after world" and "hereafter" have been suggested, and in other contexts would be excellent options. But to my mind they contain an emphasis on "life after death" which has a diachronic (time progression) component which is not present in any of the FR terms; the semantic emphasis in the FR is on the (other) world which is not this world, which exists synchronically (at the same time), alongside this world.
It's a subtle distinction, I know, but on such subtleties hangs the true quality of a translation .... |
