La Kaburantwa et la Kagunuzi sont deux petites rivières affluents rive gauche de la Rusizi, qui drainent le flanc Ouest de ia crête Nil Zaïre, les collines du Mirwa. Plus à l'aval, la Rusizi se jette dans le lac Tanganyika, à l'altitude 774 m environ. La crête Nil-Zaïre culmine dans le bassin de la Kaburantwa à 2652 m (Mont Twingoni) et, plus au Sud, à 2670 m (Mont Heha). Un tiers du bassin versant de la Kaburantwa à Kabu 16 est situé au Rwanda, la rivière formant frontière avec ce pays sur une partie de son cours amont.

disagree  Tony M: This word order would not be natural in EN; plus 'affluent' has a more common meaning in EN (= rich), and for rivers, we talk about 'bank', not 'shore' (which is used for bodies of water like the sea or lakes)
