French term or phrase: en forte déclinaison
I can't seem to find an appropriate definition for this word in this context.

Le site comporte plusieurs zones dont une zone en plateau falaise en forte déclinaison au niveau 113 m NGF.

I imagine it means the cliff falls away sharply, but the dictionary definitions don't seem to agree. Of course, I may be barking up the wrong tree entirely! I'd appreciate some guidance.

Many thanks.

Thanks - the term came up again later on in the text and it seems they are talking about the plateau adjoining the cliff itself
