Explanation:
After extensive research, this is what I've come up with:

I think we are talking about "lance à eau", see here:

This seems to be a water dredge:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_eductor

Which makes sense in the context of the article.
Now, we need to find some way of saying samples/survey results obtained by water dredge/water eductor. It seems like we should be careful with "dredging", as that is something entirely different:

It seems to me that there must be a better way of saying "surveys performed using water dredge", but hopefully this is already a good start.
