Ce relief de plaine est toutefois traversé par plusieurs vallées d'oueds s'écoulant tous perpendiculairement à la côte. Les profils de ces vallées présentent des types très différents : doux sur la partie ouest de la région (oued Merzeg et oued Bouskoura) ainsi que les deux oueds (Arrimene et Gottaya) qui se jettent à Mansouria, très encaissés pour les oueds Maleh et Nfinfikh qui marquent profondément le paysage tout à la fois par leur relief et les occupations du sol qui en résultent (forêt ou parcours sur les flancs et zones naturelles ou agricoles irriguées).

I would use "merge" as it does not give the impression of water present. Protrude does have some hits but may not be to everybody's standards in this context as the correct word to use. However, here are examples of both:

flows into / runs into


Explanation:
A stream flows into a river or 'se jette' dedans. This is when a smaller river runs into a larger one or into the sea. I hope this helps, although there might be a better geographical term.

agree  Tim Cleary: I agree that 'flow into' would be appropriate if the wadis end at the sea. If they enter a river before arriving at the sea, you might use the term 'feed' ('the two wadis feed River X').
