The text I'm translating is about inflation

"Chine, le plus grand marché émergent du monde, a chargé ses hauts fonctionnaires du parti d’élaborer des stratégies pour contenir la hausse des prix"

I don't uderstand "du parti"...
please help :)

disagree  writeaway: from is not correct English. The En equivalent does not follow Fr syntax in any case

disagree  cc in nyc: IMO, not "senior party officials"; either "party officials" or "senior members of the party" – EDIT: My thinking is that "fonctionnaires" – even hauts fonctionnaires – are not "senior officials." But I could be wrong... And I did not intend to offend you!
