Le capitaine se leva promptement et alla ouvrir la porte de son bureau, inquiet car les détonations étaient perçues comme très proches, peut être même dans le bâtiment de l’administration où il occupait les fonctions de responsable, pour la région de Hébron, des antiquités en Palestine.
Des soldats courraient dans le couloir : " cela vient du côté des bureaux du colonel, mon capitaine " lui dit l’un d’eux.
Mackin se précipita vers la **pièce du secrétariat**, jouant des coudes, il vit trois soldats à l’entrée du bureau, dont le nouvel aide de camp du colonel nommé Carter.
