French term or phrase: comme dit est

The full phrase in the document where this occurs is 'Nous comme dit est estans bien informez de ce que dessus'. Googling tells me that 'comme dit est' is a common phrase but I'm unsure of its exact connotations and haven't found it in a dictionary. I did find it in another document of the same period (1620s) translated as 'in short', but I'm not altogether convinced. (The 'nous', by the way, is the royal 'we'.)

I studied this kind of stuff in a first-year university module "Evolution of the French Language" - not very scintillating stuff it must be said. I was very glad once I had finished the module.
