French term or phrase: Tare
I have this sentence:

"On sait que le temple de Vénus et Rome était situé près du forum romain, entre la basilique de Constantin et le Colisée, précisément en cet endroit qu'on appelait Summa sacra via, et auquel correspond en partie Tare de Titus."

I wonder if Tare could be a scanning error for "l'arc" - there are other scanning errors in this historical text. Can anyone familiar with this field help out?

agree  Christopher Crockett: That would seem most likely --I have certainly not heard of any "Tare" (of Titus or of anyone else). Especially true if you have other scanning errors in your text.
