French to English translations [PRO]
History / Administrative Title | | French term or phrase: premier Jurat noble | I'm wondering if just the literal "Chief Noble Jurat" is adequate here, although I've been unable to find such a title on the Internet.
Contexte:
"En 1590, on retrouve Jean de Martin Baron de Laubardemont comme trésorier du Roi de France en Guyenne. Il est élu **premier Jurat noble** de Bordeaux en 1620."

This function still exists in the Channel Islands. I think that will be your best bet. I don't think 'noble' has anything to do with nobility per se as people appointed by the king were usually nobles anyway. No need to stress it once more in their titles.
