Le Topanet el Goumery, dit de la douane, situé près de la porte de la Marine, également dénommée batterie des Andalous, fut détruit en 1867; cette batterie qui avait été construite en 1551 par le caïd Safar comportait, avant 1830, 23 canons de bronze et une pièce à sept bouches, dont la célébrité était due au fait qu’elle avait été rapportée de Fez en 1576; elle fut emmenée à Paris en 1830 comme butin de guerre.
