French term or phrase: sauf beneficiaire acceptant
The context is a powerpoint presentation with little context. The "sentence" goes: "Modification de la clause bénéficiaire possible à tout moment (excepté bénéficiaire acceptant)" It's the last phrase that puzzles me. Can anyone help this late on a Sunday evening?

unless a beneficiary has been irrecovably designated
Explanation:
Hello,

A policy holder can change the beneficiary at any time, unless he has irrevocably designated one.

An irrevocable beneficiary is also known as an accepting beneficiary.

sauf = excepté (unless)

This isn't easy because I've never seen seen it written as "unless an accepting beneficiary has been designated."

I hope this helps.

neutral  writeaway: wherever do you see the word irrevocably in this? not a great idea to embellish legal docs. and we really needed to hear the answer to AllegroTrans question. this question isn't clear at all.

  -> Embellishing legal documents? LOL. It's pretty clear to me what the meaning is here. An "accepting beneficiary" is a beneficiary who has been irrevocably designated. If you do some research, you shall see for yourself how I arrived at my translation.
