French term or phrase: construit
The sentence is "Le risque est considéré comme un construit unidimensionnel d'ordre supérieur".

I can't find a suitable translation for construit.

Any ideas ?

construct
Explanation:
I'm not sure if it's applicable in your context, but I think in mathematical modelling and other related fields, the word 'construct' is indeed used as a noun; but I don't have specific personal knowledge to know whether this is appropriate or not here.

model

Explanation:
a guess but a unidimensional model is often used/seen and this would work with a superior order/rank or am I looking at this from a mathematical point of view which doesn't fit your context ?

agree Nick Lingris: "higher order" and "unidimensional construct" get even more Gh's. "higher-order construct" is pretty common. And here, on risk, you have a "higher-order unidimensional construct". http://www.agsm.ucr.edu/faculty/pages/pavlou/pavlou_IJEC03.p...
