Bus/Financial - Internet, e-Commerce / Web site for a trailer rental company
French term or phrase: artisans
The president of this rental company has received an award from the Quebec Trucking Association.

"L'Association du camionnage du Quebec recompense ses ***artisans.***
Monsieur XXX, président de YYY, s’est vu décerner la distinction accordée aux membres émérites depuis 25 ans pour avoir contribué au fil des ans à accroître la force et la cohésion de l’industrie du camionnage. Félicitations!"

I'm tempted to say something along the lines of "... rewards those who have contributed to its development." Or perhaps "...rewards those who have helped craft its devlopment" [to preserve the idea of "artisan"].

Comments/other suggestions most welcome!

Karen Stokes: 5:56pm Mar 25, 2007: I like your second suggestion.
xxxCMJ_Trans: 7:16am Mar 26, 2007: all it means is its "workers" - you could even use "truckers" here

practitioners
Explanation:
Not as pretentious as the French source (an artisan produces something, by definition), but a pleasant enough euphemism, mefinks! :-)

agree rousselures: "artisan" can also mean instigator, creator, founder etc... In this case, I think practitioner can be used.
