neutral  David Goward: So if you wanted to purchase items from an on-line store and had to go through a process where you entered, say, you email address and a password, you wouldn't say that your were LOGGING ON to that site?

  -> You are not connecting either but entering information. If you subscribe to a service on-line (like buying airline tickets) they normally give you a 'log in' and password after setting up an account.
