French term or phrase: analytique par ligne produit et reporting
This is in a database software manual. I translated this as "analytics by product line and reporting." It sounds a bit literal. Any other suggestions? Thank you!

cost accounting by product line and reporting
Explanation:
'cost accounting' (or 'management accounting', as opposed to general accounting) is called comptabilité analytique in French. Broadly, it involves analytical manipulations of the data that are not required for financial reporting (P&L by product, for example).

neutral juliebarba: I also used to think that 'produit' was 'product', but I often see it translated here as 'income' - or is that different?

-> The word has both meanings (esp. income in the sense of proceeds), but here it is almost surely 'product line'.

agree sentaa: agree, "income" will be in general accounting
