Does anyone know what this term is in English? I am sure this is a term in regular use in the IT field, but I cannot find the English anywhere.

Here is some context:

Plus précisément, dans le Brevet, seuls les "nuages" de plusieurs points de contact proches les uns des autres peuvent correspondre à l'appui d'un doigt. Les autres points de contact isolés sont ignorés par la création d'une zone englobante qui entoure chaque nuage de points de contact ([0048]).

Le barycentre de chaque zone englobante est calculé ([0048]-[0049]).

Un premier exemple de traitement des coordonnées des points de contact est celui de la mesure de pression déjà mentionnée, cette mesure consistant à mesurer l'évolution de la zone englobante du nuage des points de contact correspondant à un appui ([0052]).

Procédé pour le contrôle d’un équipement informatisé selon la revendication 5, caractérisé en ce que les traitements comportent une détection de zone englobante de la zone de contact d’un objet avec le capteur tactile.
