broadcaster in the UK 11:19 Oct 22, 2010
The primary meaning of 'broadcaster' in the UK is an organization which makes and delivers programmes to the listeners/viewers - eg: the (venerable) BBC, ITV, C4.
'broadcaster' is sometimes used to refers to an individual person's profession, but not usually in isolation; 'broadcaster' is linked to something else, presumably to avoid confusion with the more normal use of the word. eg: John XXX is an author and broadcaster, Jane YYY is a journalist and broadcaster. |
