Journalism
French term or phrase: journal de boulevard
It's about an article that was published in a famous newspaper: "...dans les colonnes du Sonntagsblick, un des plus gros tirages des *journaux de boulevard* de Suisse alémanique,..."

Is it just a normal everyday newspaper?

It MIGHT refer to the FREE papers stuck on pillars, a typical and well-established publication in France... perhaps common there, too? I can't copy and paste the image I found via Googlemaps but they are still there, in Paris, as I remember them from a long time ago.
