French term or phrase: redressement judiciaire
"La première enveloppe intérieure contiendra les justifications suivantes:
- Lettre de candidature
- Déclaration du candidat
- Si le candidat est en redressement judiciaire, la copie du ou des jugements prononcés à cet effet"

This sentence is in a tender document but it doesn't make sense to me as surely if an applicant is in receivership/bankrupt, they would not be able to make a bid? Can "redressement judiciaire" be translated as anything else or am I missing something more legal/contractual here?
TIA
Kevin

Explanation:
This might work. The sentence says that if the bidder is in administration the relevant info. must be provided. There is no reason why it can't be still a going concern - and thus bid for business. Being put into administration may be the way of keeping it going. The requested info. is needed to assess if this is the case, I imagine.

agree  Charlie Bavington: This is the nearest UK equivalent. RJ is not as 'serious' as receivership (no real Fr equiv; in Fr, co.'s go from RJ -> liquidation) or bankruptcy ("faillite").

tax inspection

Explanation:
I've seen this before and seem to remember that it was tax related - to do with having your financial accounts inspected and maybe adjusted....

(individ./corp) compulsory receivership

Explanation:
Used to be known in France pre-1986 as reglement judiciaire.

Receivership - for candidates who are both private individs and corps - is arguable preferable to admin. which is for corps. only in the UK.

Administrative receivership is for corps. only when an admin. receiver is appointed by co. creditors under a co. debenture.
