French to English translations [PRO] Marketing - Law: Contract(s) / Internet marketing | | French term or phrase: redressement judiciaire | "La première enveloppe intérieure contiendra les justifications suivantes:
- Lettre de candidature
- Déclaration du candidat
- Si le candidat est en redressement judiciaire, la copie du ou des jugements prononcés à cet effet"
This sentence is in a tender document but it doesn't make sense to me as surely if an applicant is in receivership/bankrupt, they would not be able to make a bid? Can "redressement judiciaire" be translated as anything else or am I missing something more legal/contractual here?
TIA

| in administration | Explanation: This might work. The sentence says that if the bidder is in administration the relevant info. must be provided. There is no reason why it can't be still a going concern - and thus bid for business. Being put into administration may be the way of keeping it going. The requested info. is needed to assess if this is the case, I imagine. |
