summary proceeding or ex parte motion

Explanation:
Based on the GDT Note: La requête est admise dans les cas où le requérant est fondé à ne pas appeler de partie adverse; le juge ou le tribunal statue sur la requête sans que la partie adverse ou d'autres intéressés, s'il en est, aient été avisés ou convoqués par le requérant ou le juge.

in expedited proceedings ('in chambers') or on ex parte application

Explanation:
The French equivalent to the first part may not be a hearing by a master or judge in chambers, as it would be in England & Wales - hence the brackets.

neutral  AllegroTrans: "expedited" seems to be the usual sense for the first term (albeit I have just translated such a summons, and the hearing is not until July) but for the second term I am very doubtful (translated such a summons that was to be served on the opposite party)

interlocutory applications or (standard/ordinary) applications on notice

Explanation:
Having translated several assignations en référé, my overwhelming sense is that they were all seeking interim or interlocutory measures by the Court, usually in connection with other proceedings. I think this is the nearest equivalent comprehensible term. Sometimes they are ex parte, sometimes not. Sometimes they appear to be urgent (or expedited) at first sight, but then the hearing may be months away. Sometimes they are applications seeking a declaration of the Court.

Having translated several assignations par requête, I have found these to be equivalent to what in England we would call applications on notice (US=Motion). Indeed, "standard" applications

agree  Nikki Scott-Despaigne: It is expected that askers consult the glossary before posting. However, of course there are errors in the glossary and different contexts may require different answers. Consulting the glossary enables certain ideas to be eliminated or put one on track!
