English translation:vertical ties, masonry reinforcement
Explanation:
I guess you'll have to adapt this to patentese, but "chaînage" is what is called "masonry reinforcement" i.e. (these days) steel reinforcing bars placed in brick or blockwork to tie the units together. In days gone by, a ring of flat "chain" was in walls, at every floor level, to secure the masonry. In buildings, vertical "chaînage" is generally placed alongside doors and windows and at corners.
