There seems to be some words missing and i can't piece together the noun clauses. As far as I'm aware, "droits d'auteur" are a type of intellectual property right, so perhaps this should be a list, but then "whose" "ayants-droit" is it referring to - the "auteur"?

Explanation:
I imagine that the distinction is made because it is not always the author who keeps owenrship of the copyright. Intellectual property rights are seen as part of copyright. Propiété intellectuelle is sometimes translated just as copyright, but that would certainly blur your issue!
