French to English translations [PRO] Law/Patents - Law: Patents, Trademarks, Copyright | | French term or phrase: des droits d’auteur ou de leurs ayants droit | The whole phrase that I wanted to post is between **, but exceeds the 10-word limit. There seems to be some words missing and i can't piece together the noun clauses. As far as I'm aware, "droits d'auteur" are a type of intellectual property right, so perhaps this should be a list, but then "whose" "ayants-droit" is it referring to - the "auteur"?
Les droits mentionnés ci-dessus sont cédés par le Prestataire à compter de la réception de(s) l’œuvre(s) manifestée par la validation de la Fiche transmise par le Prestataire au Client, et ce, pour tout le temps que dureront *les droits de propriété intellectuelle légale des droits d’auteur ou de leurs ayants droit*, d’après les législations tant françaises qu’étrangères et les conventions internationales, actuelles et futures, y compris les prolongations éventuelles qui pourraient être apportées à cette durée.
Thanks. |

| | copyright and its rightful owners | Explanation: for phrase: intellectual property rights of the copyright and its rightful owners.
Note: I do not think "author's" has a place in the translation--the concept is covered by the word "copyright".
"ou de leurs ayant droit": ou is translated by AND and not OR.

Explanation: I imagine that the distinction is made because it is not always the author who keeps owenrship of the copyright. Intellectual property rights are seen as part of copyright. Propiété intellectuelle is sometimes translated just as copyright, but that would certainly blur your issue!
