Could it be a provisional date?
I've found one document (http://www.carrefourdesstagiaires.com/FilesUploaded/pasperdu... which explains it like this: "Il s’agit d’une date à laquelle l’affaire"
sera remise, mais non pour être plaidée. |

I like your suggestion of "provisional" but may give impression that it might not happen or may be changed. "Interim" gives idea of a deadline before a second and final date. |
