French to English translations [PRO] Law/Patents - Law: Patents, Trademarks, Copyright / EU approval for marketing (pharmaceuticals, pesticides, etc,) | | French term or phrase: AMM | | I am curious to know what other translators do when confronted with this term which is the French abbreviation for Autorisation de Mise sur le Marché, translatable into English as "Full Market Approval". Do you leave it in French and do nothing, as your clients are certain to know what it means, do you add (Full Market Approval) in brackets after it or what else do you do? |
| | | English translation:MA | Explanation: I would first write the translation (MA = market authorization) and then add the French between brackets or as a translator's note.
