You are on the right track but as a life insurance, it doesn't pay out very much as lots of the money paid in is used for claimants who have become handicapped after an accident at work. Another example of why it isn't a traditional life insurance is that when you retire, you leave your company and you no longer pay in to the scheme so you lose your cover unless you choose to pay more voluntarily.
